2005 NCAA Women's Lacrosse National Championship
Northwestern and Virginia would face off in the 2005 NCAA Women's Lacrosse National Championship. It would be Virginia's third straight finals appearance, but as it was in 2003 they would fall this time to Northwestern, 13-10. Northwestern would finish the season with a perfect 21-0 record, only the second time a team in NCAA Women's Lacrosse would win 20 or more games and go undefeated. This would only be Northwestern's second team championship in school history.
